The CAMPAIGN

2020 was a frustrating year. And from it, we were seeing a new crop of money-savvy people who were less willing to just hope everything would work itself out when it came to their lives and their money. That’s why, for our 2021 campaign, we focused on the optimism of the new year ahead by showcasing people setting their own new money goals and using NerdWallet’s Best-Of Awards list to achieve them. 

While our whole team worked together to achieve goals across OTT, social, CRM, and more – my role was to develop a visual language for the campaign and produce a toolkit for Brand Studio to follow for consistency.

I also was responsible for the Best-Of Awards landing pages – both consumer-facing and partner-facing. 

We focused on three key themes when establishing the visual direction:

Authentic vignettes

We wanted to capture the authenticity of our target audience, and their very real money goals.

FORWARD MOMENTUM

After 2020, we knew most consumers needed a refresh. We wanted to use that feeling to inspire them to take back 2021.

TIMELINESS

Since the list comes out annually, we wanted to ensure the creative felt celebratory and fresh, while maintaining brand consistency.
